2020 is not yet done throwing challenges our way - please see below for important updates about winter break training, the 100x100 challenge and notes for regular practices that resume on Monday, January 4th!

Pool Update

As you may have heard from your swimmer, we had an issue with the pool heater this morning and the water was too cold for swimming. We did get an hour of dryland (with some additional moaning and groaning ) so all was not lost. We reached out to TPS and the heater issue has been resolved. As of now, we should be good to swim tomorrow morning, but bring dryland clothes just in case. For any last minute updates, watch your email and the team group me!

100x100

Depending on the heater situation, and any developing weather, we are still scheduled to have the 100x100 challenge this Thursday. However, should this change, we are looking at the possibility of postponing until the January intercession break, which is the week of 1/18. We will update the team as we have further information. If we do swim Thursday, we are also looking at a possible "make-up" date for swimmers that are being held out of practice due to family gatherings over Christmas. If you were not at practice this morning, and you do want to do the 100x100, please let us know so we have a swimmer count.

New Year's Holiday, Covid-19 and the First week of Practice in January + Hornet Invitational

Our Hornet Invitational is scheduled for Thursday, January 5th for both Varsity and JV swimmers. We are planning a 3 site swim meet, with the invited teams swimming at either BTW, Bixby or Ft Gibson (thanks to both of these schools for volunteering to host part of the meet!). This will allow us to still have good competition, yet keep the number of swimmers and volunteers on deck as low as possible. We will combine results from all 3 sites to finalize results.

However, with the New Year holiday this Friday, we ask that our swim families observe the below requests, with respect to practice the week of January 4th and the Hornet Invitational:

• If your family is traveling outside of Tulsa for New Year's, we will ask that you keep your swimmer home from practice the week of January 4th, including the meet.
• If your family is gathering together with a group including members outside of your immediate household/bubble for New Year's, we ask that you keep your swimmer home from practice the week of January 4th, this will include the swim meet.
• If you or your swimmer are uncomfortable with swimming in the Hornet Invitational, please let the coaching staff know as soon as possible.
