BTW Swimmer's Weekly--May 21, 2023
May 21st
***From the Booster Club***
From the Coaches
- This week:
- Water polo Monday-seniors vs everyone
- Pool party Wednesday -kids can get in and play games
- No swimming Tuesday or Thursday
- Summer Swim training at Jenks. If you are registering for Jenks - the volunteer requirement is waived. They are asking for any and all help at the State meet at the end of the season, but swimmers won’t be charged for that since it’s just for the summer. You will still need to click yes I agree or it won’t let you register. (I have confirmed this with Jenks)
- Summer swim will officially begin on June 5th.
- The first link on the document provided last week is not working. Please use this link to begin the registration process https://www.teamunify.com/team/osjtsc/page/team-registration, and then follow the directions on the Registration Steps for BTW Swimmers document (attached) from there
- It has been an amazing year!!! Congratulations to all our Seniors! Spread your wings and change the world!!!
- I’ll see the rest of you at the pool this summer!!
From the Booster Club
- Anna, Mia, Eva, McKenzie, Hadyn, Megan, Rin and Ella - After countless practices and meets, you've stepped on the pool deck for the final time and left your mark on BTW Swimming. We wish you the best in your next chapter and look forward to seeing how you leave your mark in the world. Congratulations Graduates!
- The booster club needs YOU for next year! We are currently in the process of filling the many volunteer opportunities, particularly some chair positions:
- Spirit Wear - IMMEDIATE NEED Works with Senior swimmers, Booster Board, and BTW Swim Coaches to coordinate the design selection for spirit wear. Works with vendor to get pricing, mock-ups, create order form, etc. We are hoping to begin spirit wear sales in late July/early August.
- HyTek Computer System - We will need freshman and sophomore parents to learn this system this fall. We cannot run our home meets without volunteers and our current expert will be a senior parent in the fall.
- Hospitality - Coordinate meals for coaches and officials at home meets
- Senior Night Coordinator - Looking for an incoming senior parent
- Banquet Coordinator - The junior class puts on this event so we'll need a junior parent in this role
- If you are interested in serving in any of these capacities, please email Sharon at [email protected]
- This year's final team activity is the float trip on Monday, June 19th. The Float trip has been set up under events on Swimtopia.
- Swimmers need to RSVP and interested parents can sign up to chaperone.
- Swimmers are not allowed to drive because it is a team activity so we need parent chaperones/drivers to make this event happen
- Cost is $25 - can be paid via venmo, check or square https://btw-swim-booster-club-inc.square.site/ (paying this way includes a $1 transaction processing fee)
- Deadline to sign up is June 12
- Do you know an incoming freshman or new student to BTW who enjoys swimming, working hard and having fun in a great team atmosphere? Please invite them to the new student swim tryout on June 13th from 3 - 4:30. Rising seniors will be assisting with tryouts.
- Looking Ahead: July 1 - 9 is Dead Week. During this period student athletes are not allowed to use any school facilities or have contact with any high school coaches. If your swimmer is signed up for summer swimming through the Jenks Swim Club, there will be no practices that week.
- Upcoming Events:
- June 13th - New student swim tryouts
- June 19th - Float Trip
- July 1 - 9: OSSAA Dead Week
