    BTW Swimmer's Weekly - October 15, 2023

    ***From the Booster Club***
    From the Coaches

    • Swimmer of the week:
Congratulations to Georgia for being this weeks swimmer of the week. Georgia has been swimming on the fresh fish side of the pool to help offer guidance and encouragement. She also took one for the team this week by filling a slot in the 200 IM (not her event) in our first scrimmage.
    • We missed last week's swimmer of the week:
Congrats Farrah! Farrah has shown exceptional drive and determination. She promises she will have her name on the record board before her time at Booker T. is through. She never lets up and is constantly challenging herself to go faster and get stronger. Additionally, she is always all smile and such a joy to have on the team.
    • Practice this week will be Monday and Tuesday until 5:15.
      • No practice during fall break. Enjoy your time off!
    • Swimmers can go into Swimptopia and sign up for 2 events for the Jenks Scrimmage. The coaches will do their best to honor these choices for this meet. This can be found under the event “Jenks Scrimmage Swimmer Sign Up 2023.” They will have until Sunday the 22nd to do this. If a swimmer has trouble, we can over it at practice Monday or Tuesday.
    • The results from the scrimmage have been uploaded to Swimtopia. To see them, go to events, past events and then open the attachment under Black and Orange Scrimmage.

    From the Booster Club

    •   CONGRATULATIONS to the team for the season's first scrimmage. If you missed it, the Black team sent Coach Casey off in style with the win. All swimmers did an amazing job!
      • Thank you to everyone who volunteered! You all helped us have a successful meet.
    • If you wish to place an order for individual or team photos, the gallery expires tonight. The link can be found here: BTW Swim 2023
    • The next home meet is the Jenks & Bishop Kelly scrimmage on October 26th. There will be additional volunteer needs from what we had last week including concessions and heat sheet sales. We will also be asking for donations for snack items - cutie oranges, bananas, chips, candy, bottled water, etc. These opportunities will be posted to the event page by tomorrow evening at 8:00.
    • Booster Club Dues and Team Sponsorships are being accepted until October 15th. Dues are $100 per swimmer and can be paid via venmo, credit card or check/cash. Please be sure to include your swimmer's name on all payments. There are three levels of team sponsorship: Gold ($500), silver ($250) and bronze ($100). Benefits include - name or logo displayed on the homepage of the website, name or logo on all home meet heat sheets, name or logo on all program documents, social media recognition.
      • Payment methods:
      • If you have any financial difficulty in paying booster club dues, please don't hesitate to contact the Booster Club president, treasurer, or one of the coaches to see how we can help you. There are scholarship funds available. We never want finances to prevent a swimmer from fully participating on the team. Contact info is listed on the Booster Club Board page and the Coaches page under the Team menu.
    • The coaches have asked for snacks for the team during practice. If you are able to donate throughout the season, please send with your swimmer. If you don't have time but would like to help, you can send money via venmo and the booster club will purchase for you. In the memo line please note "snacks"
    • If you missed the October Booster Club meeting, watch for minutes to be posted on the team website.
