From the Coaches

• Coach V and Coach Jenny are very proud of our team and their performance at the scrimmage this week. Please give your kids a pat on the back and know they are working so hard!
  • Thank you to all of the parents who helped make the meet possible!
  • Thank you to the seniors who helped with Carver Boat Races on Friday!
• This week:
  • Monday-practice until 5:15
  • Tuesday-Kids will need to hurry and be in the pool by 3 so we can get out at 4:30. It's HALLOWEEN! Arrange for early pick up please. There is much candy to eat!
  • Wednesday- practice until 5:15
  • Thursday- Freshmen, Sophomores and 1st year swimmers will go to Union for the Union invite. Juniors and Seniors will have study hall in the cafeteria until dismissal at 3:35.
  • Friday- practice until 5:15
• Union meet information:
  • 10100 E 61st Tulsa, Ok 74133 @ 5:30
  • This meet is optional for Juniors and Seniors but they are welcome to swim. They should have RSVPed Saturday if they want to swim. Please check in with them and make sure this is done before Monday.
  • If your Freshman or Sophomore is unable to attend, please let Coach V know ASAP. It is a mandatory event for them.
  • Bus will leave BTW at 3pm, and students will need to have dinner and snacks with them. They will need to wear black pants and orange jackets to school that day. They must ride the bus to Union with the team but can be driven home by parents when the meet is over, not earlier. They must check out with Coach V or Coach Jenny before leaving and will only be released to parents. Students will need to call for a ride home from BTW as the bus leaves Union. Coaches will remind them to do so. Please be on standby so the coaches do not have to sit in the parking lot with your child waiting for a ride.
  • Union does not charge entries for the meet but has asked:
    We encourage an optional donation for the Tulsa Day Center (serving those experiencing or at risk for homelessness). Their greatest needs are new (but cheap - from the dollar stores) underwear and socks for men and women, as well as sports bras. We appreciate any donations.
    • These items can be brought to the pool any day this week and we will deliver at the meet.
• Injuries & missing/leaving practice: If your student is unable to swim, coaches need to hear from you.If your child has to leave early, coaches need to hear from you. If your child has an on-going medical issue, coaches need a weekly update. Send this information to: [email protected]

From the Booster Club

• THANK YOU! to everyone who served as volunteers and brought items for concessions. We had more water and other items than asked for, which allows us to carry over to the next home meets. There will be a few items we request, but not many as you were extremely generous with donating items we could sell. As communicated, we did leave fruit and other items for the snack closet for swimmers.
• For those going to the Union meet on Thursday, it will be crowded and hot. You can bring a small fan if you got really hot and we recommend you dress in layers.
• Pool Etiquette - Union, Jenks and a few other pools have an upper level for spectators and only swimmers/coaches are allowed on the pool deck. If you attend a meet and have something to give to your swimmer, please have them meet you on the lower level - do NOT drop things from the upper deck.
• Senior Parents - Reminder of this evening's planning meeting for senior night at 6:30. Please use this link https://meet.google.com/rzc-tfyr-adv
• Swim items from Swimquik - This year, our customer service has been less than ideal from our swim clothing vendor. The contact the coaches have been working with is new to our account as our previous contact is no longer with the company. Coach V is asking that every parent reach out to Matti to direct all complaints regarding timing of receipt, missing items, etc. She can be reached directly at [email protected]. Please keep all correspondence respectful yet reinforce how extremely displeased you may be with this year's items, timeliness of receipt and service. If you are missing items, please include that in your correspondence as well.
