From the Coaches:

-Swimmer of the week: Congratulations Andrew! Andrew is one of the hardest working kids on the team. His performance at Thursday’s meet was awesome as he had two first place photo finishes. He has been a huge help to Coach V as she has made the transition to head coach by helping decide intervals and being honest what the team can handle at practice. He has been a mentor to the new swimmers and a supportive presence at meets, even attending the Union meet when it was not required. The best thing about Andrew is that he is a junior and will be around for one more year to lead the team!

-Great job at our first home meet to all the swimmers and volunteers. It was really fun AND we beat Carl Albert. Watch out Bixby.

-Practice this week will be M-W from 3-5 (pool opens at 2:45)

-Mark your calendars for hell week Dec 18-22 starting at 3pm. 100x100 will begin at 1:30 pm and wrap up by 5:30pm on 12/22/23. Families are encouraged to attend for the last half hour to cheer on the team. More details to follow.

- Swimmers should be reading this. This first swimmer to come up to Coach V at practice and say “pineapple” will get a “Sit out for 10 minutes” to use at any practice over the next week.

• Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!
• Thank you everyone who volunteered last week and worked with us in our pool capacity complexities. Your time and assistance helps us put on a great meet for BTW and our visiting schools.
• Senior Night has been moved to the Hornet Invitation on January 18th
• For those having issues receiving the weekly emails in a timely manner, Swimtopia has sent the following message:
  • We recently discovered a malicious user had created a SwimTopia trial account and was using it to send spam messages through our platform on October 28, 2023. As a result of these messages, the reputation of our service as a sender of legitimate email messages was degraded.
    We have disabled this malicious account and have taken measures to ensure a similar incident does not occur in the future.
    We have also proactively reached out to multiple major email service providers to request expedited restoration of our good email reputation. In some cases, those requests have been granted but in other cases, we have been advised that we will have to wait for our reputation to build back up over the course of several days to weeks. Yahoo (which manages @yahoo.com, @aol.com, @att.net, among others) is one that is taking time.
    We are closely monitoring the deliverability of the emails we send and we can see that it is has increased significantly and continues to improve following the actions we have taken. At this time, the vast majority of emails are being delivered without issue. However, it may take several weeks for our sender reputation to fully recover, but we are hopeful the end is near.
• Spirit Wear Store is open! These items are being sold school-wide, including socks. In order for the socks order to happen we need at least 12 of each size sock (S, M, L and XL). These will make great stocking stuffers! Spread the word and encourage folks to purchase from our spirit wear store! • Volunteer signups are open for the following: Home Meet December 5th, Holiday Party December 15th and Lane Counters for the 100 x 100 on Dec. 22
