    BTW Swimmer's Weekly - January 7, 2024

    ***From the Booster Club***

    From the Coaches

    • Coach V forgot to do swimmer of the week but will do it on Monday.
    • A big THANKS to the booster club for purchasing more parachutes so the entire team can have one. Get excited kids! We should have them on Wed. 
    • This week will have regular practice except for Tuesday.
    • Tuesday we will attend the Frontier Conference at Jenks. 
      • Bus will leave BTW at 1pm. There was discussion about alternate transportation, but we will just take the bus.
      • Meet starts at 5:30. Students need to bring food to last all night.
    • Swimquick is still working to correct our order. They should be shipping black jackets to new swimmers very soon.
      • Orange pullovers (ordered this year) will be collected at the pool and returned as soon as all the black jackets have arrived.
    • Regional and state information
      • Regional meet start time is 2pm on Feb. 3rd (We will need to be at the
        pool by 11:30 am) Coach V is figuring out if we have a bus scheduled or not.
      • State Prelims start at 10am on Feb 16th and finals start at 2pm on Feb
        17th

    From the Booster Club

    • Tim Ford has recently agreed and was confirmed by the executive board, to serve out the remainder of this year as treasurer-elect. Thank you and Congratulations Tim!
    • The next booster club meeting will be this Wednesday, January 10th at 6:30; zoom link will be sent out on Monday
    • Thank you to everyone who worked so hard on the 100x100 Challenge Fundraiser! Our goal was to raise $3,500 and we raised $4,605. Great work, everyone!
      • Our top fundraiser was Darby Gleason with $605. Two swimmers, Andrew King and Nellie Coates, tied for second with $600; they will each receive the second place prize.
    • Seniors/Senior Parents - We need a photo for everyone for the senior night program. Deadline extended; please submit your photo by January 9th. If you previously emailed it to Sharon, please resend using the link below.
    • All teams, including Booker T., are responsible for providing 2 timers at the Frontier Conference meet this Tuesday, January 9th. Timers will get free admission to the meet. The timer meeting will be at 5 pm at the south end of the pool.
    • Junior Families - There will be a meeting in mid-January to discuss the planning process and needs for the annual banquet.     • Senior Families - We will meet briefly following the booster club meeting this Wednesday. A separate zoom link will be provided.
    • Sign ups are open for the three remaining in-season events - 2 pasta parties and our final home meet. For senior night, our goal is for NO senior family to have to volunteer, allowing them the opportunity to watch and enjoy the meet. If you have not yet volunteered this year, please consider doing so on senior night!
    • We have our first restaurant fundraiser coming up on Monday, January 22 4 - 8 pm at Panera on 41st & Yale. We are waiting for the final flyer but it will need to be provided at time of ordering.
