From the Coaches

• Swimmer of the Week was Paula. Paula is such a hard worker and it is paying off. She had phenomenal time drops at the Hornet Invitational both in her 50 and 100 free. She has come so far as a swimmer and the coaches are so grateful she is on the team. It has been such a joy to get to be part of her time at Booker T. It makes us sad to think she will not be in the pool next year with us. We are excited to see her finish the season strong! 
• Practice this week
  • No practice on Monday due to inclement weather
  • Practice Tuesday-Thursday will be normal schedule 
  • Friday will dismiss at 4:30 (we will swim) so please plan to have a ride there earlier. 
• Saturday is the Rose Invitational in Oologah. We will meet at the TPS Service Center at 7:45 and the bus will leave at 8. I do not have our warm-up time but I do know they start at 9 so don't be late. The bus will pull out at 8:00am and will not wait. If you are not on the bus, you will not swim. Meet starts at 11. I encourage all parents to come out for this one. It is a really fun meet to watch and we love a large cheering section.
• Parents, please check in with your students about their grades at this time. We have nine swimmers on probation. If they do not get their grades up by Friday, they will not be going to regionals.  
  

From the Booster Club

• Thank you to every parent that helped make the Hornet Invitational a success! It was a great night honoring our seniors, capped off with three trophies - girls champions, boys champions and overall team champions, staying in the hands of the Hornets!
• If you haven't been to any away meets this season, this Saturday's Rose Invitational is one to attend! It is filled with 39 years of fun tradition and will be some great races! 
• The Rose Invitational Pasta Party is this Friday at the Heck home ( 7235 E. 65th St. Tulsa). It will begin at 6:00; current needs are salad and bread. Sign up on the meets and events page here.
• Junior Parents - There will be a meeting, approximately 30 minutes, this Wednesday, January 24th at 7:00 pm via Zoom to discuss the planning process and needs for the annual banquet. Zoom link to come via a separate email Tuesday.
• Senior Parents - If you have any receipts from Senior Night that you would like reimbursed, please submit to Kevin by this Thursday, January 25th. If you are donating the cost of items you purchased, please let Sharon know how much you spent so that we can build an accurate budget for next year. 
• We have our first restaurant fundraiser coming up tomorrow, Monday, January 22 4 - 8 pm at Panera on 41st & Yale/Hudson. The attached flyer will need to be provided at time of ordering. We've also attached 2 Facebook and 1 Instagram social graphics; please share with your family, friends, colleagues.
• It is time to be thinking about next year and we need your help! We are looking for 5 people to help serve on the nominating committee for seeking individuals to serve in executive positions for the 2024-2025 year. If you are interested in assisting in this capacity, please reply to this email; also, please consider saying yes if you are asked to serve on the committee. Thank you
