From the Coaches

• Congrats to all of our senior graduates. I am so proud of you all and will miss your smiling faces next year!!
• No practice this week. Coach V will be at school for 7th hour on Monday but will not be there Tuesday. If you need somewhere to go during 7th hour, hang out in the cafeteria. 
• Summer pool hours begin May 28th and go from 3 until 5 M-F unless otherwise noted. As per OSSAA rules, coaches are not allowed to instruct. I will be there and sets will be written. We will get back into swim buddies. More about this to come in the following weeks. 
• Summer bonding-Pool hours on Monday each week will focus on team bonding. If you can only make one practice per week, make it Monday. Club swimmers, Monday would be a good day to participate in our pool time. Incoming freshman will be invited to summer pool hours.
• Coach V will be creating a GroupMe for the entire team this year that she will be moderating for team communications. The team can create a separate GroupMe for shenanigans that the coaches are not privy to. I will start setting this up this week with help from our rising seniors.
• Rising seniors, please RSVP for tryouts. Tryouts are only open to rising seniors and will be held after practice on June 4th (5-:6:30 for rising seniors). 
• No pool hours this summer on: May 29th, June 3rd , June 10-14, July 1-5

• The membership joins Coach V in congratulating our seniors! We know you will do great things!
  

  

• While this will be our last official swimmer's weekly for the year, there may be occasional emails targeted to the whole membership or just certain groups. Thank you to our Communications Chair, Ann Lloyd, for organizing the coaches and booster board so well to get these out every week!
• Reminder: Deadline to RSVP AND pay for the float trip is next Monday, May 27th. No late payments or RSVPs will be accepted so that we can plan chaperones and arrange rafts.
  • Because it will be a booster club sponsored activity swimmers will not be able to drive and we will need parents to serve as drivers and chaperones. RSVPs are open for swimmers; parents who will chaperone should both RSVP AND sign up under the chaperone job signup.

  • Eparticipant is responsible for paying the Booker T Swim Booster Club prior to May 27th

• Returning parents: In addition to the practice and coaching, in order for the team to be successful it takes everyone to pitch in. There are many opportunities to volunteer throughout the year - one time things or ongoing. To best assist your booster club board, begin thinking about how you will serve next year. Opportunities include:
  • Bonding Night Chair
  • Spirit Wear Sales
  • Meet meals
  • Photography
  • Pasta Party Hosts
  • 20 - 25 volunteers needed PER HOME MEET
  • Fundraising - Restaurant Give Back Night Coordinator
  • Lead Chair Team Banquet (junior parent)
  • Check out descriptions on the team website or reach out to Marc and Carla with any questions.
•  If you have any team expenses that need to be reimbursed (Senior Night, Banquet, etc.) please submit them to Kevin no later than tomorrow, May 20th. If you have expenses that you are donating (do not want reimbursement) please send Kevin those totals and details. This information will assist us as we build the budget for next year.
