    BTW Swimmer's Weekly - January 26, 2025

    • SOW week catch up:
      • Natalija was SOW for the week of the 6th. Natalija is a joy to have on the
team. She is so into team spirit and being with her teammates, she
sometimes does not realize how fast she swam until she is congratulated. She
works hard in practice and has bonded well with her fellow freshmen. Keep
an eye on her through championship season. She might surprise us...and
        herself.
      • SOW for the week of the 13th was Citlaly. Sometimes SOW is not about how
fast you swim but about your value as a teammate and helper. Citlaly is
always up for mentoring our younger swimmers. She is supportive, while at
the same time, not afraid to keep everyone in line. She has consistently
swam two of the most dreaded events this year, 100 fly and 200IM. We love
Citlaly and are going to miss her next year.
      • SOW for this week is Mattea. Mattea is what I like to call, a ninja
swimmer. She is always there and always working hard, but never draws
attention to herself. She has steadily improved this year and is
finding her groove and what events and strokes suit her. One of my
favorite parts of practice is checking in with her and getting to see
        her smile.
    • Parent of the week-Special shout out to Liz Maxwell for driving to
Oolagah Saturday morning to pick up a sick swimmer (who was not her
child) and drive him back to Tulsa and then return to watch the meet.
Liz does a lot for the team and this was a biggy. Thank you Liz!
    • Thanks to all of the families who came out to watch the Rose meet
this weekend. The team swam hard and had some major breakthroughs. We
      won boys, girls and overall.
    • Normal practice this week except for Thursday when we have a home
meet. All should know the drill by now.
    • The Hornet Invitational meet/Senior night is Thursday. I encourage
all our families to come out and celebrate our seniors. It will be a
small meet that should go quickly.
      • We still need timers and other volunteers for Senior night. We ask that non-senior parents fill these roles so the senior parents can enjoy the meet. Please sign up to help if you can.
    • We need more snacks. Even though the season is almost over, we will
still be swimming through the end of the year. Our snack supply is
      getting a little low.
    • I have attached a copy of the Tulsa World article about the team for
      those who missed it.
    • FINALLY-CHECK GRADES in Powerschool. I just got the eligibility
report and I have 8 swimmers on probation. If grades are not brought
up this week, they will not be eligible for Regionals.
